A great Thanksgiving

I hope eveyone had a great Thanksgiving we sure did. There is nothing like being with family to celebrate the holidays. The kids ate turkey and dressing and cranberry sauce and oh of course pumpkin pie. They loved the pumpkin pie.

Here we are having some pre dinner fun. Where we live there are a few trees but we have so much wind that leaves don't last long. Here at my aunt and uncle's house they have lots of oak trees and lots of leaves. They babies had so much fun playing in them.

The boys took to it right away, miss Hayla on the other hand took a little bit to warm up to the idea. They were throwing them and crunching them and giggling.

Getting ready for Turkey Day!

The kids love to help no matter what it is but there are a few things that particularly interest them. The day before Thanksgiving we were helping get food ready and Hayla was our little cook, she stirred and crumbled the cornbread for stuffing. The boys on the other hand helped their Papa fix the stove.

A visit to Granbury

A couple of weeks ago we visited friends in Granbury. It was a short but fun weekend. We stayed at the Plantation Inn which were such gracious hosts to us. The kids thought the hotel was great. They climbed up on the bed jumped around, put toys in the little fridge, and loved to open and close the door when Daddy went out to get something. We really had a nice time and loved getting to see friends again.

Here we are at a friends house. These are their new winter coats it was so funny the first time we put them on. The kids kept falling over.

Lion's and Tiger's and Bear's "Oh My"

Well our first real Halloween was pretty successful. We just went to families houses because the kids are recovering from a week with rotovirus and we didn't want them too exhausted. Before we left our house we had my aunt and grandmother give each kid a piece of candy to put in their bag and then we let them eat it so they knew what to do. Well five minutes later we arrived at my aunt and uncle's and Hayla got out of the truck and grabbed her bag and took it to my uncle and held up to him and said " uh uh". She thought this was pretty cool.

At my sisters house they let them help them selves to the candy and the kids filled their bags full.

After leaving my cousin's house the kids started chewing on a sucker well they got through the paper so we just let them have it. They thought they had died and gone to heaven. They sucked on the suckers for an hour.

We ended at my folks house. By now the hoods had come off, but we were still in a great mood and going strong. We changed them out of their costumes before we headed home because we knew they would be out before we hit the highway.
Our first Halloween as a success!!!

Playing with Grandma and Grandpa

Last Saturday we spent the afternoon wth Shane's Family to celebrate his cousins birthday. The kids thought is was so much fun to be in a house where the cabinet drawers and doors open and there are all sorts of cool things in reach.

Mommy's Day Out

For the first time since they were born just the three of them and I went out. We went grocery shopping and then to McDonald's. It was really nice.

State Fair of Texas

We went to the State Fair of Texas a few weeks ago and had a blast. The kids had their first corny dog, some turkey leg and cotton candy and boy did they love it. We got there about 11 am and stayed until about 6pm. It made for a long day but what an experience.

Here are the kids meeting Maya and Miguel, characters off of PBS. They were not too shy, infact Hayla and Clayton walked right up to them and wanted to sit in their laps. Dylan was a little more apprehensive.

Then they got to sit in Cliffords big red bowl. They thought that was neat.

Here we are at the petting zoo. They wanted to pet all the animals and feed as many as they could. We had to drag them out.

We had a lot of fun and even though the kids were exhausted by the time we left we were glad we went.
